Sustainable 5 is a resource management simulation game developed by GreenPixel Studios and released in 2023. The game places the player in the role of a city planner tasked with constructing and maintaining a self-sufficient urban environment over five distinct eras, from the Industrial Revolution to a near-future setting. The primary objective is to balance economic growth, population satisfaction, and ecological sustainability. Players must manage six core resources: energy, water, food, waste, materials, and population morale. Each era introduces new technologies and environmental challenges, such as pollution accumulation and resource depletion. The game ends when the city achieves a net-zero carbon footprint and a stable population for five consecutive in-game years, or fails if any resource reaches zero or morale drops below a critical threshold.

Gameplay is turn-based, with each turn representing one in-game month. The player interacts via a point-and-click interface on a hexagonal grid map. Controls: left-click selects a tile or building; right-click opens a context menu for upgrades or demolitions. The keyboard shortcuts are: 'B' for build menu, 'R' for resource overview, 'T' for technology tree, and 'Space' to end the current turn. Tactical techniques include prioritizing water infrastructure in early eras to prevent drought penalties, and clustering waste-processing facilities near industrial zones to reduce transport costs. A key strategy is the "balanced expansion" method: never exceed 70% land usage in any sector to maintain green buffer zones that absorb pollution. In later eras, players should invest in fusion energy and vertical farming to minimize land footprint. The "morale cascade" technique involves building parks and schools immediately after constructing residential blocks to prevent dissatisfaction spikes.
