Leap of Fury is a single-player platformer game developed by Vivid Forge Studios and released in 2023. The game is set in a fractured volcanic world where the protagonist, a rogue named Kael, must ascend a series of unstable floating islands to escape an erupting caldera. The core objective involves navigating vertical environments while avoiding environmental hazards such as falling debris, lava geysers, and collapsing platforms. The game features a minimalist art style with a muted color palette, emphasizing contrast between the dark stone and bright orange lava. Progression is linear, with each level ending at a portal that transports Kael to the next, more treacherous island. Gameplay mechanics center on momentum-based movement and precise timing. The player controls Kael using a keyboard or controller. On keyboard, the A and D keys move left and right, the W key performs a jump, and the Spacebar executes a double jump. The S key initiates a ground pound, which breaks fragile platforms and resets the double jump ability. On a controller, the left stick controls movement, the A button jumps, the X button double jumps, and the B button performs a ground pound. The game has no health bar; any contact with lava or falling debris results in instant death and a respawn at the last checkpoint. Tactical techniques include chaining a ground pound into a double jump to reach higher ledges, and using the double jump at the apex of a fall to extend horizontal distance. Players must memorize enemy patrol patterns, as enemies cannot be defeated, only avoided. The game rewards speed runs by awarding bonus points for completing levels under a par time, displayed on a post-level summary screen.
