Epic Race Game is a competitive racing video game developed by Digital Ascent Studios and released in 2023 for multiple platforms, including Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game features a fictional open-world environment known as the Aether Circuit, a sprawling network of tracks set across futuristic urban landscapes, desert canyons, and arctic mountain passes. Players control customizable hover-vehicles equipped with energy shields and boost systems. The primary objective is to complete laps or point-to-point routes faster than opponents while managing vehicle integrity and energy reserves. The game supports single-player career mode, local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players, and online multiplayer for up to twelve participants. A dynamic weather system and destructible track elements, such as barriers and bridges, alter race conditions in real time. The game does not include weapons or power-ups; success relies entirely on driving precision, energy management, and route optimization.

Gameplay mechanics center on three core systems: energy management, drift boosting, and shield depletion. Each vehicle has a finite energy pool that powers both the boost function and the shield. Activating boost drains energy rapidly, while sustaining collisions depletes the shield. If the shield reaches zero, the vehicle becomes vulnerable to track hazards and further impacts, causing speed reduction or temporary immobilization. Laps are completed by passing through designated checkpoints; missing a checkpoint triggers a respawn penalty of three seconds.

Operation controls are standardized across platforms. On a controller, the left analog stick steers the vehicle. The right trigger accelerates, and the left trigger brakes or reverses. The A button (or cross button on PlayStation) activates the boost, which can be held for continuous acceleration or tapped for short bursts. The B button (or circle button) deploys a temporary shield recharge, consuming a stored charge. Charges are replenished by driving over energy pads located on the track. The Y button (or triangle button) initiates a drift, which, when held during a turn, builds a drift meter. Releasing the drift at the meter’s peak triggers a speed boost upon exiting the corner. The D-pad cycles through camera angles: chase, cockpit, and overhead.

Tactical techniques include drift chain boosting, where consecutive drifts are linked without straightening the vehicle, maintaining momentum through complex corners. Energy conservation is critical; players should avoid using boost on straightaways unless overtaking, reserving energy for shield recovery after collisions. Optimal racing lines prioritize the inside of corners to minimize drift duration and energy loss. On destructible track sections, players can intentionally trigger barrier collapses to block pursuing opponents, though this also risks self-damage. In online multiplayer, drafting behind another vehicle reduces air resistance, allowing for a 5% speed increase without energy expenditure.
