Description

Tip Candy Puzzle is a tile-matching puzzle video game developed by a small independent studio and released for mobile platforms in 2023. The game presents a grid-based board filled with colorful candy-shaped tiles. The primary objective is to clear the board by matching three or more identical tiles in a row or column. Each level introduces a specific target, such as achieving a minimum score, collecting a set number of a particular candy type, or clearing obstacles like locked tiles or chocolate blocks. The game features a progression system with over 200 levels, each with increasing complexity and new tile types, including striped candies, wrapped candies, and color bombs that trigger chain reactions. The visual design is bright and cartoonish, with a clean user interface that displays the current level, moves remaining, and score. The game is free-to-play with optional in-app purchases for extra moves or power-ups.

Instructions

Gameplay mechanics are based on a standard swap-and-match system. The player interacts with a square grid, typically 8x8 or 9x9, filled with six distinct candy types. To make a match, the player selects a tile by tapping it, then taps an adjacent tile (up, down, left, or right) to swap their positions. If the swap creates a horizontal or vertical line of three or more identical tiles, those tiles are removed from the board, and new tiles fall from the top to fill the gaps. The game ends when the player runs out of moves or fails to meet the level objective within the allotted moves. Special tiles are created by matching four or more tiles: a match of four creates a striped candy that clears an entire row or column when matched; a match of five in an L or T shape creates a wrapped candy that explodes in a 3x3 area; a match of five in a line creates a color bomb that removes all tiles of a chosen color when swapped with any tile.

Operation controls are entirely touch-based. On a touchscreen, the player taps a tile to select it, indicated by a brief highlight, then taps an adjacent tile to execute the swap. The game does not support drag-and-drop; all moves require two distinct taps. An undo button is available for the last move, limited to one use per turn. The player can also tap a power-up icon at the bottom of the screen to activate a purchased or earned item, such as a hammer that removes a single tile or a shuffle that rearranges the board.

Tactical techniques focus on maximizing chain reactions and special tile creation. A common strategy is to prioritize matches near the bottom of the board, as this causes more tiles to fall and increases the chance of cascading matches. Creating color bombs early in a level is effective, as swapping a color bomb with a striped candy clears all tiles of that color and activates the striped effect on each. For levels with limited moves, the player should avoid making matches that do not contribute to the objective, such as matching tiles far from locked obstacles. Observing the board for potential L-shaped or T-shaped matches is critical, as these produce wrapped candies that clear large areas. When obstacles like chocolate blocks appear, the player should focus matches directly adjacent to them, as chocolate spreads each turn if not removed.
