Description

Police Bus Simulation is a vehicle operation and public service video game developed by a small independent studio. The game places the player in the role of a driver tasked with transporting passengers in a modified bus that also functions as a mobile police command unit. The primary objective is to navigate a semi-open urban environment, pick up and drop off civilians at designated stops, and respond to occasional law enforcement requests. The game emphasizes adherence to traffic laws, time management, and vehicle maintenance. The setting is a fictional city with a day-night cycle and dynamic weather conditions that affect driving physics. The game does not feature combat or high-speed pursuits; instead, it focuses on routine patrol and transport logistics.

Instructions

Gameplay mechanics are divided into two core loops: passenger transport and police support. The player must follow a route displayed on a dashboard GPS, stopping at marked bus stops to allow passengers to board and alight. Each passenger has a patience meter that decreases if the bus is late or drives erratically. Police support tasks involve responding to non-emergency calls, such as directing traffic at accident sites or providing a mobile base for officers. The player must park the bus at a designated location and wait for a timer to expire before the task is complete. Failure to obey traffic signals or speed limits results in a fine deducted from the in-game currency, which is used for fuel and repairs.

Operation controls are standard for a driving simulation. The left analog stick or A and D keys steer the vehicle. The right trigger or W key accelerates, while the left trigger or S key brakes and reverses. The handbrake is assigned to the spacebar or a dedicated button. The player opens and closes the bus doors using the E key or a controller face button. A toggleable horn is mapped to the H key. The camera perspective is third-person by default, with a first-person interior view available via the C key. The GPS route is toggled with the M key, and a map overlay appears on the pause screen.

Tactical techniques focus on efficiency and penalty avoidance. The player should anticipate traffic light patterns by observing the pedestrian crossing timer. Braking early and smoothly prevents passenger patience loss. When responding to police calls, the player can activate the bus’s emergency lights using the L key to reduce the time required for task completion, but this does not grant immunity from traffic fines. Fuel conservation is achieved by avoiding prolonged idling at stops. The player should plan refueling at the depot when the fuel gauge drops below one-quarter, as running out of fuel results in an automatic mission failure and a towing fee.
