Heroic Barrage Easy is a single-player, top-down scrolling shooter video game developed by Indie Studio PixelForge and released in 2023 for Windows and mobile platforms. The game is a simplified iteration of the original Heroic Barrage, designed to reduce difficulty by lowering enemy bullet density, increasing player hitbox invulnerability frames, and providing more generous power-up drops. The objective is to pilot a spacecraft through a series of five linear stages, each culminating in a boss encounter. The player must destroy waves of enemy fighters and turrets while avoiding incoming projectiles. The game features a pixel-art aesthetic and a chiptune soundtrack. A scoring system awards points for enemy kills, chain combos, and boss damage, with a final rank assigned upon completion.

Gameplay mechanics are built around a single-screen scrolling field. The player ship moves freely within the lower third of the screen. Enemies spawn from the top and sides in predetermined patterns. The player has a primary weapon that fires continuously when the fire button is held. A secondary weapon, the "Barrage," is a limited-use screen-clearing bomb that destroys all enemy projectiles and deals heavy damage to all on-screen enemies. Barrage charges are replenished by collecting green energy orbs dropped by destroyed enemies. The player has a health bar of three segments; each hit removes one segment. Health pickups restore one segment. The game ends when all health is depleted.

Operation controls differ by platform. On Windows, the keyboard uses the arrow keys for movement. The Z key fires the primary weapon. The X key activates the Barrage. The Enter key pauses the game. On mobile platforms, a virtual joystick on the left side of the screen controls movement. A large fire button on the right side is tapped and held for continuous fire. A smaller Barrage button above the fire button is tapped to activate the special attack. The pause button is located in the top-right corner.

Tactical techniques focus on positioning and resource management. The player should remain in the center of the screen to maximize reaction time to enemy spawns. The Barrage should be saved for moments when the screen is filled with enemy bullets or during boss attack patterns that are difficult to dodge. Collecting green orbs is a priority, as maintaining a full Barrage charge provides a safety net. Against bosses, the player should memorize the telegraphing animations for each attack and move perpendicular to the bullet streams. Chain combos are built by destroying enemies in rapid succession; the player should prioritize clusters of weaker enemies to maintain the multiplier.
