Description

Hero Tower Wars is a multiplayer tower defense and real-time strategy game developed by Frogdice. The game combines elements of classic tower defense with hero-based combat and resource management. Players construct defensive towers along predetermined paths to prevent waves of enemies from reaching their base. Each player controls a unique hero unit with special abilities that can be deployed to assist in combat. The game supports both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, with up to four players per match. Matches are divided into rounds, with each round introducing progressively stronger enemy waves. The objective is to survive all waves or eliminate opposing players’ bases in competitive modes. The game features a variety of tower types, each with distinct attack patterns and upgrade paths. Heroes gain experience and level up during a match, unlocking new abilities and stat improvements. Gold is the primary resource, earned by defeating enemies and completing waves, and is used to build towers, upgrade them, and purchase hero items.

Instructions

Gameplay mechanics center on tower placement, hero control, and resource allocation. Players begin each match with a hero and a small amount of gold. Towers are built on designated plots along the enemy path. Each tower type has a specific role: arrow towers for single-target damage, cannon towers for area damage, magic towers for slowing or debuffing, and support towers for healing or buffing. Towers can be upgraded three times, increasing damage, range, or special effects. The hero is controlled via mouse movement and keyboard commands. Left-clicking moves the hero to a targeted location. Right-clicking attacks the nearest enemy. Hero abilities are activated by pressing number keys 1 through 4, corresponding to the ability slot. The hero’s ultimate ability is unlocked at level 10 and activated with the Q key. The spacebar selects all idle towers for quick upgrades. The Tab key cycles through enemy units to focus fire. Tactical techniques include building a mix of tower types to counter enemy resistances. Placing slow towers early in the path maximizes damage from subsequent towers. Upgrading a single tower to maximum level is often more effective than spreading upgrades across multiple towers. Hero positioning is critical; the hero should be used to intercept fast or high-health enemies that bypass towers. Saving gold for hero items, such as damage or health potions, can turn the tide in later waves. In competitive modes, sending enemy waves early can disrupt an opponent’s economy. Coordinating tower placement with teammates in cooperative mode prevents gaps in defense.
