Funny Cars

Funny Cars is a vehicular combat racing game developed by Invictus Games and released in 2009 for Microsoft Windows. The game features a cast of anthropomorphic cartoon vehicles, each with distinct handling characteristics and special abilities. Players compete in arena-based races and battle modes across a variety of themed tracks, including desert canyons, icy mountains, and industrial zones. The objective is to finish first in races or eliminate opponents in combat arenas. The game supports single-player career mode, local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players, and online multiplayer. Visuals employ a cel-shaded art style with exaggerated physics and destructible environment elements.

Gameplay is divided into two primary modes: Race and Battle. In Race mode, players complete laps while using weapons and power-ups. In Battle mode, the goal is to reduce opponent health bars to zero. Controls are as follows: W, A, S, D or arrow keys for vehicle movement. Spacebar activates the vehicle's unique special ability. Left mouse button fires the primary weapon; right mouse button activates a secondary item or shield. The Q key cycles through available weapons. The E key triggers a turbo boost, which drains a rechargeable boost meter. The R key resets the vehicle if stuck.

Tactical techniques include drifting by tapping the brake (S key) while turning to maintain speed through corners. Weapon pickups appear in colored crates; blue crates grant homing missiles, red crates grant mines, and green crates grant health restoration. Players should prioritize collecting green crates when health is low. The special ability, unique per vehicle, should be saved for straightaways or when surrounded. Turbo boost is most effective when used immediately after a drift to maximize acceleration. In Battle mode, strafing (A and D keys while holding right mouse button) allows evasive maneuvers against incoming projectiles.
