FormWise is a real-time puzzle-strategy game developed by Nodal Systems in 2023. The game is set within a procedurally generated geometric grid where the player manipulates polygonal shapes to achieve specific spatial configurations. The objective is to transform a given starting shape into a target shape by rotating, scaling, and repositioning its vertices within a limited number of moves. Instructions

Gameplay mechanics in FormWise center on vertex manipulation. The player selects a vertex of the active shape by clicking or tapping on it. Once selected, the vertex can be dragged along the grid axes to alter the shape’s outline. The shape must remain a simple polygon at all times; self-intersection is not permitted. Each move is counted as a single vertex adjustment, and the level is completed when the shape matches the target outline exactly. Controls differ by platform. On PC, the left mouse button selects and drags vertices, the right mouse button rotates the entire shape by 90-degree increments, and the scroll wheel adjusts the shape’s scale uniformly. On mobile, touch gestures are used: a single finger drags a vertex, a two-finger rotate gesture turns the shape, and a pinch gesture scales it. Keyboard shortcuts include the R key for rotation reset and the Z key for undo. Tactical techniques involve planning vertex moves in sequence to avoid creating concave angles that cannot be corrected later. Players should prioritize aligning the shape’s centroid with the target’s centroid early, as this reduces the number of adjustments needed. Another technique is to use the boundary walls as guides: dragging a vertex to the edge of the grid can lock it in place, allowing for precise scaling. In gravity zones, the shape’s vertices are pulled downward each turn; players must counteract this by moving vertices upward first. For levels with multiple static shapes, collision avoidance is critical—vertices cannot pass through other polygons, so a path must be plotted around them. The undo function is limited to three uses per level, encouraging deliberate planning over trial and error.
