Description

FNAF Shooter: Metro is a first-person survival shooter video game developed by a third-party studio under license from ScottGames. Released in 2023 for Windows and console platforms, the game is a spin-off of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, diverging from the series’ traditional point-and-click survival horror format. The setting is an underground metro system, referred to as the “Metro,” which serves as a network of abandoned transit tunnels and stations. Players assume the role of a security technician tasked with navigating these dark, linear corridors while defending against hostile animatronic characters that have been reprogrammed or corrupted. The game combines elements of rail-shooter mechanics with resource management, as players must conserve ammunition, repair environmental defenses, and manage a limited power supply for their flashlight and weapons. The objective is to reach the central control hub at the end of each level while surviving waves of animatronic enemies that emerge from tunnel entrances, vents, and maintenance shafts. The narrative is delivered through audio logs and environmental storytelling, revealing the cause of the animatronic malfunction and the fate of the metro’s original staff.

Instructions

Gameplay mechanics are structured around a fixed-rail movement system. The player character automatically advances along a predetermined path through the metro tunnels. The player controls a targeting reticle using the mouse or right analog stick. The primary weapon is a stun baton for close-range defense and a semi-automatic pistol with limited ammunition. Secondary weapons include a shotgun and a flare gun, each with scarce ammo pickups found in supply crates. The flashlight is a critical tool; it must be used to stun certain animatronics that are vulnerable to light, but its battery drains rapidly and recharges slowly when holstered. Control scheme on PC uses the left mouse button to fire, right mouse button to toggle the flashlight, the R key to reload, and the spacebar to deploy a temporary barrier or repair a broken fuse box. On console, the right trigger fires, the left trigger toggles the flashlight, the X or square button reloads, and the A or cross button interacts with environmental objects. Tactical techniques include prioritizing the destruction of animatronics that emit a high-pitched whine, as these units can disable the player’s flashlight. Players should conserve shotgun shells for large groups of enemies that spawn from the same vent. The stun baton is most effective when used immediately after a flashlight stun, as it deals double damage to disoriented targets. Repairing fuse boxes restores power to nearby lights, which temporarily slows enemy movement in that zone. Ammo conservation is essential; the game provides no infinite ammunition sources, and missed shots cannot be recovered. The optimal strategy involves memorizing enemy spawn points and using the environment’s cover pillars to break line of sight while reloading.
