Description
Brainrot: Castle Siege! is a multiplayer tower defense and real-time strategy game developed by Studio Gutter. The game simulates a siege conflict between two factions: the Defenders, who control a central castle, and the Attackers, who deploy waves of units to breach its walls. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world rendered in a deliberately low-fidelity, pixelated art style. A core mechanic is the "Brainrot" meter, which fills as units are killed or structures are destroyed. When the meter reaches maximum capacity, a random "Corruption Event" occurs, altering the battlefield with hazards such as toxic fog, unit mutations, or structural decay. Matches are timed, lasting fifteen minutes, with victory conditions based on either total destruction of the castle or the highest score from unit kills and resource collection.
Instructions
Gameplay is divided into two phases: Preparation and Assault. During the thirty-second Preparation phase, Defenders place walls, archer towers, and resource depots within a designated build zone. Attackers select unit spawn points and assign unit types from a roster including Melee Grunts, Ranged Crossbowmen, and Siege Rams. The Assault phase proceeds in real-time. Defenders control a single Commander unit, which can be moved with the W, A, S, D keys. The left mouse button commands the Commander to attack a targeted enemy unit or structure. The right mouse button issues a move order. The number keys 1 through 4 activate special abilities: 1 for a healing aura, 2 for a defensive shield, 3 for a short-range fire blast, and 4 for a temporary speed boost. Attackers do not control units directly; instead, they manage resource points by pressing the Spacebar to spawn a pre-selected wave at a designated rally point. The Q and E keys cycle through available unit types in the spawn queue. Tactical techniques include "Wall Weaving," where Defenders place walls in staggered patterns to slow siege ram progress. Attackers employ "Wave Stacking," delaying spawns to release multiple unit types simultaneously, overwhelming a single defensive section. A key technique is "Corruption Manipulation," where both sides intentionally allow the Brainrot meter to fill during a stalemate to trigger a Corruption Event that favors their position, such as baiting Defenders into a toxic fog zone. Resource management is critical; Defenders must balance gold spent on repairs versus new structures, while Attackers must conserve points for high-cost siege units.
