Description
Bomber Friends is a multiplayer online battle arena game developed by Hyperkani. Released for mobile platforms, the game is a real-time, grid-based combat experience where players control characters in enclosed arenas. The objective is to eliminate opponents by placing bombs that explode in a cross-shaped pattern after a short delay. The game supports up to four players in a single match, with both local and online multiplayer modes available. Matches take place on destructible tile maps, where players can destroy soft blocks to reveal power-ups. The game features a variety of character skins and arena themes, all of which are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay mechanics. Power-ups include increased bomb blast radius, additional bomb capacity, speed boosts, and the ability to kick bombs. The game does not include a single-player campaign; all content is centered on competitive multiplayer sessions.
Instructions
Gameplay mechanics are based on a turn-based real-time system where all players move simultaneously. Each player begins with a single bomb that explodes after a three-second fuse. The explosion extends in four cardinal directions, with a default range of one tile from the bomb’s origin. Players can be eliminated by direct explosion contact or by being trapped against indestructible walls. Soft blocks are randomly placed on the map and can be destroyed by explosions, revealing power-ups or empty spaces. Power-ups are collected by walking over them and are applied immediately. The game ends when only one player remains alive.
Operation controls are touch-based. A virtual joystick on the left side of the screen controls character movement in four directions. A bomb placement button on the right side of the screen is tapped to drop a bomb at the character’s current position. There is no button for kicking bombs; the kick ability is activated automatically when a player walks into a bomb after collecting the kick power-up. No other control inputs exist; all actions are limited to movement and bomb placement.
Tactical techniques include bomb chaining, where a bomb placed next to another bomb causes a chain reaction that extends the explosion range. Players can use this to destroy multiple soft blocks or reach opponents behind walls. Corner trapping involves placing a bomb at a junction to limit an opponent’s escape routes. Speed control is critical; moving too quickly into an explosion zone is a common cause of self-elimination. Players should memorize power-up locations after destroying soft blocks to prioritize speed or blast radius upgrades. In multiplayer matches, observing opponent movement patterns allows for predictive bomb placement. The kick power-up enables players to slide bombs across open tiles, which can be used to push bombs toward opponents or into narrow corridors.
